• New Crosswalks Coming to Ward 2

There are several areas in the Argyle neighbourhood where crossing the road safely can present a challenge.

I worked with the Ward 2 community, including our school communities and the people at Trinity United Church and Community Centre. Then, I took that community feedback to city staff. As a result, 10 of the 34 new pedestrian crosswalks approved by City Council for 2020 installations are in Ward 2!

    The locations include:
->Hale St. where Kiwanis Park, LMHC, and Trinity United Church Community Centre all intersect,
->Admiral Dr. to provide a connection to Nelson Park,
->Bournemouth Dr. to connect to Grampian Woods Park,
->Bow St. to provide access to JP Robarts PS
->Wavell at Vancouver to provide access to St. Pius X School
->and across the roads to connect the pedestrian walkways from Merlin-Goddard-Atkinson-Starlight, increasing safe access to Princess Anne French Immersion Public School.

A location at Churchill and Calgary St. has also been approved to the new community centre, but because of construction it will take a little more time to complete.
